The Internal Auditor will provide an
independent, objective assurance and advisory role designed to add value and
improve LHA's operations and regulatory compliance. Help LHA archieve its
objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluation and
improving the effectiveness or risk management, control and government
processes. Lake Harvest has been expanding its local and regional operations
including a countrywide network of depots and shops necessitating the need for
an internal audit function.
Description
Reports to: audit Commitee
Key responsibilities:

- Establish an internal audit function covering LHA's
regional activities (production, procurement, sales) in accordance with
best practice. Role will report to the chairperson of the Audit Commitee
and work closely with shareholders.
- Develop a framework for planning and executing audits
of the operation for approval by the Audit Committee. Evaluate and provide
assurance that risk management, control and governance systems are
functioning as intended and will enable the organisation's objectives and
goals to be met.
- Define audit objectives and prepare plans to execute
the audits.
- Undertake internal audit reviews or operational and
finance area of the business in accordance with the framework.
- Review LHA financial systems and report on copliance
with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and practices.
- Report risk management issues and internal controls
deficiencies identified directly to the audit commitee and provide
recommendations for improving LHA's operations, in terms of both efficient
and effective performance.
- Evaluating the business preparedness against business
interuption and identifying ways in which the business can deliver better
value for money and service.
- Provide support to the company's anti-fraud programs.
- Carry out special audits and investigations at the
request of the Audit Commitee and management.
Requirements
Key skills and knowledge:
- Confident and professional.
- Articulate both verbally and with outstanding writing
skills
- Objective, logical, enquiring mind and excellent
analytical skills.
- Tactful, assertive, persistent and a good negotiator.
- Self motivated and able to work independently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior
management, stakeholders and audit commitee.
- Relevant knowledge of international standards and
quality benchmarking
Qualifications and experience
- A relevant business or accounting degree
- Registration with relevant professional institutions.
- A member of ACCA and or a CA.
- Articled Clerkship is a pre-requisite.
- At least 3 years in an internal audit position in a
relevant sector.
- Drivers' licence is a must have.
