Job Title: Medical Underwriting Officer
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager Health division,
the incumbent will be responsible of
ensuring customer satisfaction through
efficient health insurance underwriting
and claims vetting.
This enables customer retention and
meeting the departmental budget hence
contributing to the company’s growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
Renewal invitations, Quotations and
underwriting
Accounts performance review
Customer service
Negotiations with doctors for cost
control
Credit control
Clients visits when required.
Claims vetting and processing
Knowledge, skills and Abilities
required for the position.
Technical competence
Interpersonal skills
Ability to handle large volumes
Organisational skills
Credentials and Experience
Minimum of 4 years’ experience
Business Bachelor’s degree
Dip in Insurance or its equivalent

Terms of Service: Contract
Reporting to the County Chief Officer,
Finance, Economic Planning and Marketing
the Officer will be Head of the Budgetary
Supply Unit and will be responsible for
ensuring the efficient management of
Budget Expenditure Services in the
County.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Consolidating and prioritizing of areas
for allocation of Pubic resources for
the county.
Identifying programmes at the county
level by consolidating programmes at
the sub county levels for inclusion in
the project based budget.
Issuing guidelines on the budget
process to be followed by all County
Government entities.
Preparing and submitting the County
Fiscal Strategy Paper (CFSP) in line
with the national objectives in the
budget policy strategy to the County
Executive Committee.
Consolidating and rationalizing budget
proposals from all Departments.
Preparing and submitting the County
Budget Review outlook paper to the
County Executive Committee.
Publishing and Publicizing the County
Budget Outlook Paper.
Preparing the annual and revised
estimates for presentation to the
County Assembly.
Preparing relevant Bills for submission
to the County Assembly.
Dealing with County Assembly
Questions and issues pertaining to
expenditure, monitoring and control.
Advising the County Treasury on
Budget Management and Assessing
the risks involved in new and existing
budget policies.
Reviews operating budgets periodically
to analyze trends affecting budget
needs
Consults with unit heads to ensure
adjustments are made in accordance
with program changes in order to
facilitate long-term planning.
Directs compilation of data based on
statistical studies and analyses of past
and current years to prepare budgets
and to justify funds requested.
Prepares comparative analyses of
operating programs by analyzing costs
in relation to services performed
during previous fiscal years and
submits reports
Providing leadership in budget
management in the County.
Key Requirements for Appointment:
Be a Kenyan citizen
Have a Bachelor of Commerce
(Finance, Accounting and Business
Administration), Economics Degree or
its equivalent from a university
recognized in Kenya.
Possession of post-graduate
qualification will be an added
advantage
Be registered with the Institute of
Certified Public Accountants of Kenya
(ICPAK) and in good standing.
Be able to demonstrate familiarity
with Public Financial Management and
Accounting systems
Have relevant knowledge and
experience of not less than five (6)
years in Public Service or the private
sector
Satisfies the requirements of Chapter
six of the constitution.
Demonstrate understanding and
commitment to the value and
principles as outlined in articles 10
and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya
Have knowledge of computerized
accounting.

Responsible To: Senior Administrative
Officer
Relations with Others: Providing support
to EWCARDC staff.
Purpose: Responsible for the general
maintenance of the grounds and gardens
at the office, keeping the office compound
tidy.
Responsibilities:
Cleaning;
Carry out gardening duties, requiring a
minimum amount of supervision.
Soil cultivation, digging, forking,
mulching, watering, raking, weeding,
edging, pruning, bed preparation and
planting.
Wash and keep tidy the parking area
external washing areas, toilets, and
assist in cleaning inside the office
when needed.
Lawn maintenance and cultivation, use
mower properly, adjusting to correct
heights and quality of grass cutting
The use and maintenance of hand
tools and basic light machinery.
Keep the borders thoroughfares and
lawn paths clear and free from litter at
all times
Empty litter bins around the
compound
Assist with the erection and
dismantling of lawn sheds whenever
necessary
Prepare and plant flowers
Assist staff and visitors with car
parking
Cleaning of office vehicles
Loading and unloading office supplies,
arranging files and consumables in the
stores
Health and Safety;
Understand and ensure the
implementation of the office health
and safety policy and emergency fire
procedures
Report any faulty appliances, damaged
equipments or any potential hazard.
Promote safe working practices within
the office compound
Monitor the work of the company
security and report any issue to the
Senior Admin Officer
Others;
Switching on and refueling the
generator, informing the Admin team
when the generator needs service and
fuel procurement
Carry out any other duties as
requested by supervisor(s)
Person Specification:

Senior Child Protection Officer
The Senior Child protection Officer will be
based in Kakuma and shall be responsible
for coordinating and overseeing
operational plans in the Child Protection
Sector as assigned by the Team Leader.
He/she will work to improve the proper
operations, management and
improvement of the department.
The incumbent will report directly to the
Project Coordinator, while working closely
on a daily basis in collaboration with other
sectors of LWF.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will
include among others:
Planning, implementation and co-
ordination of LWF/DWS Child
Protection activities in Kakuma
Refugee Camp.
Facilitating the development of
comprehensive Child Protection
proposals with SMART objectives.
Responsible for implementing planned
and funded activities under CP sector.
Ensuring those Child Protection
activities are implemented in a
participatory and cost-effective
approach,
Foster good relations with host and
refugee communities, other
implementing partners and UNHCR in
Kakuma.
Ensure co-ordination, information
sharing and referrals with other LWF/
DWS sectors and operational partners
Produce accurate, detailed and timely
narrative reports highlighting
objectives achievements/impact on
children.
Proper management of LWF/DWS and
donor capital goods and equipment
assigned to CP sector activities,.
Drawing clear and specific staff job
descriptions reflecting their position
roles and responsibilities
Providing overall team leadership to
Child Protection officers and Deputy
Officers in their duties.
Responsible for carrying annual staff
performance appraisal as well as
individual staff performance.
Inducting and facilitating orientation of
new staff under Child Protection
sector in the operations.
Professional Qualifications:
A degree in social sciences studies
from a recognized university is the
preferred qualification. A degree in a
related discipline would also be
considered.
Proven training in project
development and implementation.
Proven academic or on-job training
and understanding of the Project Cycle
model in managing humanitarian
assistance.
Relevant Experience:
At least 3 years of progressive
experience in child protection or
humanitarian programme.
Experience gained within an
international humanitarian NGO will
be an added advantage.
Strong analytical, and documentation
skills in project management and
proposal and report writing.
Strong representation/negotiation
skills working with UN and partner
agencies (NGO)
Practical experience of using the
Project Cycle tool in the humanitarian
sector.
Excellent Computer skills.
