The Information Technician is responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks.
Job Duties:
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system
• Be familiar with all hardware and software
• Be familiar with network operating system
• Provide orientation to new users of existing technology
• Provide individual training and support on request
• Provide network accounts and passwords as required
• Input and maintain IP addresses
• Ensure installation of lock out programs
Knowledge:
The applicant must have proficient knowledge in the following areas;
• Windows Server
• Windows OS
• Linux- OS
• Networking/ CISCO Routing
• Cabling-CAT6
• Ms Office
Skills:
• ability to install and administer computer hardware, software and networks
• Ability to follow, apply, interpret, and explain instructions and/or guidelines
• Ability to determine work priorities
• Ability to make decisions and take appropriate actions
• Ability to meet schedules and deadlines of the work area
• Ability to communicate effectively
•
Education and Experience:
• Relevant Degree in IT
• Over three years’ experience in a busy organization.
